First off we got to see the Dreams Cancun, this property is close to the main area of Cancun , a great location if you’re looking for night life and shopping. Built a little bit into a cliff, is a romantic wedding gazebo. There is a great outdoor area perfect for a cocktail reception or dinner.
Then on to new Dreams Riviera, this is another great location for a hotel. The property sits between the Cancun airport but is still close to Playa del Carmen. This was our host hotel for three nights and it was wonderful, it’s a great family hotel with lots of activities to choose from. The wedding locations were unmatched; the first one is just a simple wedding on the beach with an arch or your own designed setting. The second location was by the pool area in a gazebo and what a beautiful one. It was open and was decorated beautifully. Additionally, there are many areas for private receptions.
On to the Secret Silversand in the evening and what a luxurious hotel. This adult only property, lights up beautifully at night making it perfect for a sunset wedding. There were many great locations for receptions of all sizes.
The next morning we visited Zoetry Paraiso De La Bonita Riviera Maya, this is a small and intimate full luxury hotel. They have this little pier where you could have a wedding ceremony, your reception or even a romantic dinner – completely surrounded by water and under the stars. When arriving at the airport you and your party will be picked up in luxury SUV’s and brought directly to the hotel.
Then we saw Secrets Maroma and what a beach this property has. The hotel is built on Maroma beach which is one of the paramount beaches in the Riviera Maya. Like all Secret properties, this one is adults only and full of luxuries. The rooms were spacious and full of amenities – some even had outdoor Jacuzzis on the balconies. Can you imagine having your romantic wedding on the beach, followed by a wonderful dinner, and ending your special day with champagne in your private Jacuzzi?
Later that evening we saw the Dreams Puerto Adventuras it was raining so our tour was limited, but good news I have been here before. This property is in Puerto Aventuras which is a little community area built by a marina. The wedding location is wonderful – it is built over a beautiful rocky area so you can be serenaded by the rhythmic sound of the waves.
Onto one of my favorite properties, Secrets Capri, described by one word - WOW! It’s beautiful and staff was so helpful and friendly. It’s a little older than the other and brighter colors but I love that about it. It’s more of real Mexican feel of a hotel, but once inside this property the lobby takes your breath away with all the marble and architectural design. It was very active and everyone seemed to be having fun. They have a couple different locations for a wedding and reception. This hotel had a couple of wedding things set up for us to see how a reception can still be very private in a destination. This property is close to Playa del Carmen if you would like to enjoy some shopping or nightlife.
The final property we saw was Dreams Tulum, it is furthest from airport but it is worth the drive. Built on a long secluded beach with white sands and a tropical backdrop, Dreams Tulum is one of the few hotels that have an actual chapel for a Catholic wedding. They also are one of the few properties that have a larger area for conventions or an indoor reception. Outside the chapel, you will find a large open air area for a cocktail reception or a under the stars dinner. The caramel colored buildings and great architecture give the property a real Mexican feel.
