Disney Earmarked Convention

Disney has a "Give a Day – Get a Disney Day” as part of their "What Will You Celebrate” promotion. If you volunteer a day of your time with a participating organization, you get a one day Disney pass. If you choose, you can donate the ticket to a charity such as Boys and Girls Clubs instead of using it yourself.

In 2011 the Disney Ko Olina Resort and Marina will open in West Oahu, Hawaii. There will be 350 rooms and 480 Vacation Club (timeshare) villas. The hotel will feature an erupting faux volcano and a water park.

Walt Disney World Park will be doubling the size of Fantasyland. It will be opening in two phases in 2012 and 2013. It will be focusing on princesses, including an underwater ride based on the "Little Mermaid”.

A new Disney park will open in Shanghai, China in 2014. It will be the smallest Disney Park at 287 acres.

Disney’s California Adventure will open the "World of Color” in 2010 which combines the "nighttime spectacle of Disney’s Fantasmic and the Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas”. The 18 minute show will add fountains, lighting, and projection to the original music score from the 1960’s television show. This is the first major addition to a $1.1 billion renovation of Disney’s California Adventure.

Disney World Parks offer special events for the holidays. Disney’s Hollywood Studios has the "Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights” which is a light show choreographed to traditional Christmas music. It runs every 10 minutes in the evenings in December. Disney’s Magic Kingdom has "Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party” which is available on select nights for $59 per adult and $53 per child under

The park is open for extra hours and features a special holiday parade, free cookies and hot chocolate for guests, holiday stage shows at Cinderella Castle, and it snows on Main Street. Cinderella Castle is covered in spectacular changing Christmas lights and is a gorgeous backdrop for the fireworks show.
